Politically correct terms of endearment

I’m reasonably confident that Michael Coutts-Trotter is being realistic with his assertion (as reported by News Limited) that the Department of Education is not seeking to ban supposedly anti-gay terms such as “mum” and “dad”. Such a move would be a nonsensically tragic appeasement of what is in effect a lamentable and selfish push by gay lobbies to deny children the right to embrace proper family relationships. Besides, when you look at the many meanings of the word “partner”, one such meaning covers the realms of business, commerce, law, etc. where partnerships are a common entity.
